Nekopara Extra and OVA Launch on Steam After Successful Kickstarter

Sekai Project released the newest additions to the Nekopara franchise in the west with the visual novel Nekopara Extra as well as the Nekopara OVA, both available now on PC-via Steam and Steam, respectively.

Originally funded through a stretch goal on Kickstarter, Nekopara Extra tells the story of the series main protagonist, Chocola and Vanilla, at the point where they joined the Minaduki household.

Set a half a year before the opening of the patisserie, La Soleil, the catgirls will learn to work with Master Pâtissier Kashou. However, this time around the famous cats are only kittens so this story is a bit more heartwarming compared to the adult situations that will happen later on in their lives.

Nekopara Extra is available with English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles. There is also no 18+ patch for this title in the series.

Launching simultaneously with Nekopara Extra will be the Nekopara OVA, which is based off of Nekopara Extra and both will share similar situations and scenes. However, being an OVA this version will be completely animated for fans of the series.

Author’s take: The Nekopara series is full of fun characters who over the years I have grown to appreciate. Choosing to go down such a cliche cat girl route might seem overdone, but the stories told within this world are often entertaining. As a plus to some, the adult scenes in the game can be cool too.
