SHIFT UP has issued a new statement regarding the upcoming PC release of Stellar Blade Complete Edition, addressing community concerns around region locking, DRM, and parity between platforms.
Following the official unveiling of the PC Features Trailer, initially leaked ahead of schedule, questions began circulating about how the game would handle regional restrictions and online connectivity. The developers now confirm they are in ongoing discussions with publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment to resolve most region lock issues, noting they’re “doing our BEST to resolve most of it as soon as possible.”

DRM and Mod Support Clarified
In the same statement, SHIFT UP responded to performance and DRM concerns. According to internal testing, the DRM implementation has been optimized to maintain stable average frame rates, with some test cases even showing improved minimum frame counts. Mods will be “fully supported without any restrictions,” signaling a more open approach for PC players looking to tweak or enhance the experience.
The team also emphasized that linking to a PlayStation Network account is “entirely optional and NEVER required,” addressing a growing concern among PC players wary of mandatory account integration.
Equal Content Across Versions
SHIFT UP reassured fans that both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions will offer identical content. The studio also promised that early adopters will not be left behind, with future updates ensuring continued parity across platforms. That includes the previously announced new boss fight and additional costumes that are making their debut in this release.
June Launch Incoming
Stellar Blade Complete Edition launches June 11, 2025, on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The PC version will feature enhanced visuals, support for ultrawide monitors, unlocked frame rates, and compatibility with NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3. It also includes DualSense features, multilingual voiceovers, and updated textures.
