Developed by Arc System Works and led by series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari, this installment not only continues the franchise’s legacy of delivering an audio-visual feast but also introduces gameplay innovations that welcome newcomers while challenging series veterans.
At the heart of Guilty Gear: Strive is a dramatic narrative concluding a saga two decades in the making, centered around the enigmatic That Man and the ongoing conflict with series stalwarts Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske, among others in its diverse starting roster of 15 characters. The game features a groundbreaking blend of 2D/3D cell-shaded artistry, alongside a soundtrack that underscores its action-packed battles. With the introduction of new mechanics like wall-breaking, the game offers fresh strategic depth and a revolutionary approach to its combative engagements, setting a new standard for both visual splendor and gameplay depth in the fighting game genre.
