Comical Action Shooter ‘Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX’ Heads to Switch Tomorrow
Akaoni Studio has revealed that their comical action shooter Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop tomorrow, January 25 for $8.99. During the first week of its release, Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX will have a special 45% discount (so it’ll be about $4).
Before Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX, there was the original Zombie Panic that launched as a WiiWare title in 2010 (geez, that was 9 years ago!) and then the new and improved version of Zombie Panic, Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX, released on Nintendo 3DS in October 2014.
In Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX, the world of fairy tales has been overrun by a plague of bizarre zombies that wander about and that also have a lovely yet pungent smell. Momotaro (fun fact: the character is from the Japanese tale, “The Peach Boy”) goes back to his hometown after a long time. It’s always nice going back to where you’re from, but for Momotaro, he soon realizes the town he grew up in isn’t quite as he remembered since there are pests that he has to deal with.
Thankfully for him and for you since you’ll be playing as him, he’s armed with powerful weapons that’ll prove to be helpful in eliminating any enemies that get in his way. Along Momotaro’s journey, he’ll meet the most popular fairy tales of the world, as well as allies who will help him to finish off the craziest and loveliest zombies you can imagine.
Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX for Switch will have both single-player and local co-op. You can take on the story your own or you can let a friend join the action in Arcade mode, all with the control scheme that best suits your playstyle.
There are plenty of upgraded features for the Switch version of Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX. Here’s a handy-dandy list of all of them from the developer:
- Readapted Story mode for less experienced players: Don’t worry if you get a game over, you can continue at the start of the last world you played!
- An Arcade mode completely renewed: Beat your records in each level or face a merciless Arcade run. Also, in this mode another player can join the fun at any time!
- New control options: Play Zombie Panic for the first time with a second joystick to aim independently, or play in a more traditional way with the simplified controls. Choose your preferred controller and set the control scheme that best suits your playstyle!
With Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX on Switch, you’ll have the power to choose to blast zombies on the go via handheld mode or simply play in the comfort of your own home.

Author’s take: You know, I haven’t played a zombie game in a good while, and this looks like a nice short-and-sweet zombie game to play.
