HoYoverse has detailed its next major update for its urban fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero. Version 2.0, titled Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn, will launch June 6.
The update will implement the second season and mark the game’s debut on Xbox, joining existing platforms with new content and quality-of-life improvements.
New Region: Waifei Peninsula
The spotlight of Version 2.0 is the introduction of Waifei Peninsula, a district in New Eridu filled with lore, expanded Hollow combat zones, and the city of Failume Heights.
Players will partner with new characters and take control of the Suibian Temple. In this hub, they’ll send off Bangboos, upgrade facilities, and earn rewards via resource collection tasks.
Combat Updates and New Agents
Combat in the Lemnian Hollow features the Miasmic Field mechanic, where enemies can gain shields and power-ups. New playable characters can help combat this threat.

Yixuan, the S-Rank Grandmaster of Yunkui Summit, uses a unique Auric Ink Attribute and the Rupture Specialty. Her damage bypasses enemy defenses and scales off both ATK and Max HP. She also has a custom Adrenaline mechanic and two Ultimate forms.

Ju Fufu, a Fire Stun S-Rank Agent, uses her weapon Hu Wei to build Might and Momentum, dealing Physical and Fire damage. Her Chain Attack offers a Tiger’s Roar buff, enhancing CRIT DMG and team ultimates.

Pan Yinhu, an A-Rank panda with Physical Defense skills, joins the roster with the S-Rank Bangboo Belion.
Returning Agents include Astra Yao and Caesar, who will be featured on Version 2.0 banners.
Events and Quality-of-Life Features
Several limited-time events will run alongside the update. Gravitational Attraction takes players to the cinema in Lumina Square for character-focused scenes and item rewards. Soul of Steel: Golden Bond brings mech-piloting challenges to the Hollows.
The update also includes gameplay improvements. A reworked 3D map and navigation system aim to streamline exploration, ideally. Fissure Beacons are being added as new tools to heal, revive, and fast-travel during runs. Further, players who’ve completed Season 1’s Chapter 2 Interlude can immediately begin Season 2’s storyline.
Anniversary Rewards
To celebrate one year since launch, HoYoverse is handing out bonuses. Players can claim a free S-Rank Agent and S-Rank W-Engine of their choice, 1,600 Polychromes, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, and more by completing event challenges. Additional bonuses include Boopons, protagonist outfits, and an exclusive anniversary title and avatar.
Zenless Zone Zero is available on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices via iOS and Android.
