Zanki Zero: Last Beginning Developers Discuss Creating the IP and Possible Sequel

Spike Chunsoft released a video with Producer Yoshinori Terasawa and Creative Director Takayuki Sugawara to discuss Zanki Zero: Last Beginning, which released earlier this year on PlayStation 4 and PC.

During the video, the developers talk about what it was like working on the new IP and how they used the experience gained during their time working on Danganronpa on this ned adventure. They also discuss the characters and how each of their personalities differs from each other.

Most interesting, the developers comment on the future of the series and state that they are currently working on various projects, one of which is a sequel to Zanki Zero. While this isn’t for sure happening, they are trying to gauge whether they should make a sequel or a new game entirely. However, they are up for the challenges that come with it.

If this was a sequel it wouldn’t be a continuation of the same story. They’d take the series in a totally different direction. While they aren’t sure when they’ll announce their new project, they promise it will be before humanity ends up on Mars. There’s also the possibility that it could turn into an anime series.

Zanki Zero: Last Beginning features dungeon exploring elements with equipment management across multiple levels. Players can also manage their character’s base and living conditions over the game’s narrative.
