IzanagiGames has announced the release date for Yurukill: The Calumination Games on PC via Steam. According to a new post on the game’s official Twitter and the company’s news tab, the PC version of the game is scheduled for July 8, 2022. This happens to be the same date the game will be available on consoles in Europe, as NIS America is handling the PS4, PS5, and Switch releases. North America console release is on July 5, 2022.
Based on an original story by Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler author Homura Kawamoto, the game is developed by G.rev and mixes escape-the-room and shoot-em-up sections. Character illustrations come from Hiro Kiyohara, known for his work on the Another manga adaptation and the Valkyria Revolution game. Soundtrack comes from Yuko Komiyama, who worked on the Monster Hunter series.
Yurukill: The Calumination Games story follows Sengoku Shunju, who has been accused of arson and the murders of 21 people. As he affirms his innocence, he’s now forced to partner with a victim of his alleged crimes, Rina Azami, in a weird place called Yurukill Land.
Faced with other pairs with similar backgrounds, they’ll have to fight for survival and to have their wishes granted at the end of it all. The criminals hope to be pardoned; the victims become executioners wishing for revenge. Nonetheless, they must work together in order to deal with the different attractions of Yurukill Land.
A western demo for Yurukill: The Calumination Games was recently released on consoles. Other relevant information on the PC edition includes its price will be USD $39.99, and it’ll feature only Japanese audio with subtitles in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, French and German. The company also mentions other languages may be added afterward.
