Yurukill: The Calumniation Games PS4, PS5 & Switch Demo Now Available

NIS America has shared a new trailer for their upcoming bullet hell adventure title, Yurukill: The Calumniation Games, announcing that the game’s free demo is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

The game is based on the original story by Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler author Homura Kawamoto. In addition, the game features character designs from Hiro Kiyohara, known for his work on Valkyria Revolution, and a soundtrack from Yuko Komiyama, who worked on the Monster Hunter series. The shoot ‘em up elements were developed by the veteran studio, G.Rev.

Yurukill is an experimental adventure game developed by G.rev. It mixes escape-the-room and shoot-em-up sections, a hardly common combination. The story is written by Homura Kawamoto, more known for his work on Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler. Character illustrations are by Hiro Kiyohara, who was the illustrator of the Another manga adaptation and the Valkyria Revolution game.

The story follows Sengoku Shunju, who has been accused of arson and the murders of 21 people. As he affirms his innocence, he’s now forced to partner with a victim of his alleged crimes, Rina Azami, in a weird place called Yurukill Land. Faced with other pairs with similar backgrounds, they’ll have to fight for survival and to have their wishes granted at the end of it all. The criminals hope to be pardoned; the victims become executioners wishing for revenge. Nonetheless, they must work together in order to deal with the different attractions of Yurukill Land.

Yurukill: The Calumniation Games is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on July 8, 2022.
