Yuri Visual Novel From Fatal Twelve Team ‘Summer Love Begins with a Lie’ Delayed Due to Increased Length and Animation

Lycoris announced that their upcoming yuri visual novel, Summer Love Begins with a Lie, will be delayed from its planned February 2023 release date to sometime later in 2023.

The team shared that the development team had initially planned to release the game on time, but lengthy scenarios and the volume of the game have increased the development deadline. The team continued to apologize for the delay, but they want to ensure quality is met for the release and for those who took part in the Campfire campaign that received 5,618,950 yen from 365 supports.

The publisher promises to share an updated release date as soon as possible. Currently, the game is 1.5x the volume they originally expected, and the Campfire stretch goal was met to add animation to the CG in addition to the standing illustrations. The team has put in further work to add more animations to the hair, which also wasn’t planned. They shared a .gif of the animation on their blog post.

Summer Love Begins with a Lie is a yuri visual novel with the theme of summer love, if the title didn’t give that away. This emotional romance has only been announced for Japan but considering Sekai Project has published their preview games, Fatal Twelve and Sound of Drop, we can assume this title will also come west. Update: We were given the tip that the overseas publisher is listed as Sekai Project.

We’ll keep you updated on the release of Summer Love Begins with a Lie and its development.
