Developer Piokou has announced that its upcoming 2D open-world sandbox action RPG, Yuma Nest, will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on March 11, 2026.
Players explore a sandbox-style overworld where they grow stronger by completing quests, defeating bosses, and upgrading equipment, before exploring an underworld inspired by metroidvania design.
Combat centers on fighting enemies while constructing automated systems that provide assistance. Players can build and customize training rooms to improve their character, or create fully automated structures that hunt monsters independently.
Progression includes hunting elite monsters to earn enhancement upgrades that synergize with one another. Equipment upgrades are purchased using loot earned through exploration and combat, and preparation in the overworld directly impacts success in the underworld regions.
The game also features class-based gameplay, starting with a yoyo-wielding psychic character tied to the in-world yumanite association, with at least one additional class planned for future updates.
Players will also be able to obtain a bike mount for faster traversal, recruit pets that fight alongside them, customize their character’s appearance, and collect cosmetic gear through an in-game gacha system. Homes can also be purchased to enable fast travel across the open world.
