Japanese Mythology Otome ‘Yukar from the Abyss’ Switch Edition Gets December Release Dates

Publisher Locagames has revealed the release dates for Yukar from the Abyss on the Switch. Already available on PC (Steam), the visual novel is coming to the Nintendo system on December 7, 2023 on America, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Europe, Australia and New Zealand have to wait just a little longer with its release targeted to December 11. However, the eShop pages should be open by now for future players to wishlist the game.

Yukar from the Abyss tells the story of a young woman called Kurumi Oki. After leaving the busy Tokyo for a calm lifestyle in Hokkaido, she misses her train stop and gets into mystic contact with supernatural beings.

Chased by creatures who want to take her to the underworld, she ends up unwittingly opening the door to the divine realm, where she’ll have to face difficult trials to perhaps have the chance of falling in love with the gods.

Her options include Pewrep (leader of the mountain gods voiced by Yamato Souma), Li Huaisu (god of the wetlands voiced by Aikawa Ryuu), Moshirechik (the brutish demon god voiced by Mizuha Alto), and Kyril Sasayama (who seems to be just a powerful businessman voiced by Mizuki Yoshida). The game has illustrations by Mae Mabato and a soundtrack by Alec Shea.
