Yu Yu Hakusho Live-Action Netflix Series Shares Teaser Trailer

Netflix has shared the official teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series, set to premiere on the service on December 14, 2023. The brief video highlights some of the action scenes that fans can expect from this adaptation.

“Yu Yu Hakusho, the legendary smash-hit manga from Weekly Shonen Jump, is finally getting a live-action adaptation! This series of unprecedented scale is brought to life by an all-star cast that includes Takumi Kitamura, Jun Shison, Kanata Hongo, Shuhei Uesugi, Kenichi Takito, Goro Inagaki and Go Ayano.”

Yu Yu Hakusho is a manga series that began in 1990 and ended in 1994 across 19 volumes. The story follows Yusuke Urameshi, who, after saving a child from a car crash, dies in their stead and becomes an Underworld Detective after being tested by the son of the Underworld’s ruler. As a result, he investigates the supernatural and gets involved in numerous conflicts.

An anime adaptation was helmed by studio Pierrot, lasting 112 episodes between 1992 and 1994. Further, some OVAs and supplemental media were made for fans. It is one of the most beloved anime and manga series thanks to its gripping action and endearing cast.
