Adventure Visual Novel ‘YU-NO’ Gets Western Release Date on PS4, Switch, and PC With Special Day 1 Edition Details

Spike Chunsoft announced that the Mages developed adventure visual novel YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 1.

Since it was first announced, YU-NO has now added a Nintendo Switch version that will come west with some exclusive content. A Day 1 edition will be available for the handheld hybrid console which includes 8-Bit YO-NO’s Great Adventure. This will allow players to experience the game in an 8-bit style featuring the characters from YU-NO. Additionally, the PlayStation 4 is not left out, players who pick up this version of the game will receive a special cloth poster of Eriko Takeda, the school nurse at Sakaimachi Academy (it’s rather cheeky).

YU-NO tells the story of a love that awaits from beyond this world. The game follows Takuya Arima from Sakaimachi Academy who receives a package from a father he assumed to be deceased. From here, Takuya uses the help of his friends, teachers, and possibly his lovers to figure out the mystery of his father’s legacy that could prevent a calamity that is threatening reality.

The game features multiple routes and timelines that players will be able to revisit through events using a Reflector Device. Additionally, players will have to solve all of the mysteries of Sakaimachi if they wish to discover the secret beneath Sword Cape. The visual novel is said to be over 40 hours long.
