Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection Announced for Switch and PC

KONAMI has announced Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection during the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: The Legend of Duelist QUARTER CENTURY special event in Japan. This new package will include some of the franchise’s first videogames and it’ll be available worldwide for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. The company has provided no release date for it yet.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a multimedia franchise that came to life through a manga series by Kazuki Takahashi on Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga series started in 1996, but Konami would only finish their agreement for a trading card game in 1999, rapidly transforming the concept of the franchise to revolve around them.

In an official post, the company points out that the Early Days Collection will include titles never released in the West. In the presentation, Konami announced two titles so far: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists for the Game Boy Color, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 for the Game Boy Advance.

While the former is mentioned by the company in the English announcement, the latter is missing from their post. At the moment, it’s not clear if this is just an omission or if there will be differences between the Japanese and English versions. More games will be announced later, but we don’t know yet how many titles that will entail and if the collection will only include handheld titles or not.
