Falcom has announced that the original soundtrack for the latest entry in the Ys franchise, Ys X Nordics, will launch on January 18, 2024.
The Ys X Nordics soundtrack release will be comprised of 60 songs spread across 3 CDs. Purchasing the physical version for ¥3,400 will grant customers eleven illustration cards depicting the official Ys X Nordics countdown art.
Alternatively, the digital version can be purchased for ¥2,917, while the individual songs will be selectable for ¥139 each. Further, a high-quality sound version of the album will cost ¥3,148, with each individual song costing ¥231.
The Ys X Nordics soundtrack will also launch on streaming services such as Spotify, iTunes, and YouTube Music on the same date.
The Ys X Nordics art cards included with the physical release are viewable below:
Pre-ordering the Ys X Nordics physical soundtrack from the Falcom online store specifically will grant customers acrylic standees of Adol and Carja in dragon attire, celebrating 2024, the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac.
Ys X Nordics occurs between Ys II and Memories of Celceta, making it the new third canonical entry in Adol Christin’s adventure logs. The gameplay has undergone a significant shakeup, with there only being two playable characters this time around.
Special maneuvers can be unlocked via story scenes and exploration, allowing for environmental interaction. Further, in solo mode, the character you’re not controlling performs actions judged by their own discretion. Adol will be controlling a ship for combat and island hopping, too.
Unused Ys Seven concepts are utilized in this outing, too. Ys X Nordics allows players considerable explorative freedom, enabling naval travel with a recruitable crew and ship combat.
Ys X Nordics is available in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
