Developer Nihon Falcom has concluded their releases of Ys X Nordics DLC, which is all cosmetic. The first wave, on September 28, 2023, granted decorations for ears, eyes, shields, and attachable horns. Ship cosmetics and free items were also given.
The second wave, on October 5, 2023, granted summer-themed outfits, additional eye and head attachments, as well as free items and ship decor.
On October 12, 2023, the third wave granted even more cosmetic ship add-ons, Roo attachments, hair extensions and alternate colors, and acrylic stands that could stand atop Adol’s and Carja’s heads.
Lastly, today’s fourth wave added new adventurer costumes, hair options, scarves, and a final batch of ship cosmetics.
Only the consumable item sets are free.
An exception of sorts is the recently announced Avatar Raven costume for Carja that will be bundled with the official Ys X Nordics guidebook from Falcom’s online store.

Ys X Nordics occurs between Ys II and Memories of Celceta, making it the new third canonical entry in Adol Christin’s adventure logs. The gameplay has undergone a significant shakeup, with there only being two playable characters this time around.
Special maneuvers can be unlocked via story scenes and exploration, allowing for environmental interaction. Further, in solo mode, the character you’re not controlling performs actions judged by their own discretion. Adol will be controlling a ship for combat and island hopping, too.
Unused Ys Seven concepts are utilized in this outing, too. Ys X Nordics allows players considerable explorative freedom, enabling naval travel with a recruitable crew and ship combat.
Ys X Nordics is available in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
