New ‘Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana’ PS5 Music Clip Highlights Hummel & “Invisible Exit”

Publisher NIS America has shared a new music video clip for the Nihon Falcom-developed action JRPG, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana.

The music clip this time showcases Hummel, one of the game’s party members, alongside the track “Invisible Exit.” Hummel is the third character to join Adol on his initial quest to escape the island, though he seemingly also has his own unrelated objectives. He’s also rather enigmatic and quiet, but he means well.

Hummel’s combat style embraces the Pierce attribute, similar to Laxia. However, unlike Laxia, who uses a rapier, Hummel utilizes a rifle that simultaneously functions as a blade. This leads to him acquiring a host of skills that make his toolkit pretty adaptable for distant and close-ranged contexts. Moreover, the song playing throughout this brief clip is what people today would call “sus.” It plays during tense story situations where stress is on the rise.
