Ys: The Oath in Felghana Memoire Boss Rush Mode Will Reveal New Elena Artwork; Including Her Dressed as Aprilis from Ys IX

Developer Nihon Falcom has announced that in the upcoming Ys: The Oath in Felghana Memoire, the Boss Rush mode from the previous Felghana releases will return. Additionally, just like the PSP version of the game, players will be awarded different illustrations of the heroine, Elena, as they clear Boss Rush on different difficulty levels. And with Memoire boasting refined artwork, there will be new illustrations this time around, too.

In their announcement tweet, Falcom showcased the classic artwork of Elena in the nun attire of Sister Nell, while the refined artwork is of Elena in the clothing of Aprilis, a prominent character from Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. So players will undoubtedly have more to look forward to in this release, as supplemental as it may be.

If I purchase the Japanese Switch version of this game, I may compile the new Elena artwork into an article; we shall see.

This release will boast selectable character portraits from the original Felghana and newly drawn ones, a Turbo Mode, full voice acting and narration, and the choice between three variations of the soundtrack. Throughout this particular chronicle of Adol Christin’s adventures, he explores the home region of his travel companion, Dogi.

The central city, Redmont, is suffering from financial straits under its ruler, and Chester, the brother of Dogi’s childhood friend, Elena, has seemingly gone rogue to support this treacherous monarch. The game is the second to utilize the Napishtim engine, comprising challenging boss battles and transparent skill progression depicted via magic and experience levels.
