Ys Origin Is Currently Unsupported On Steam Deck

Steam Database has been regularly updated to include which games are and aren’t currently supported for the highly anticipated Steam Deck, Valve’s portable gaming hardware. Prominent Twitter gaming enthusiast, Wario64, has been alerting his followers of this continually evolving list.

Adding to the list of currently unsupported games on the Steam Deck, Ys Origin is now included. Ys: Memories of Celceta was previously confirmed to have received this same treatment. It’s more than likely that it has not been extensively tested yet, and will become supported in the near future. Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has been shown to be playable on Steam Deck, so it’s probably just a matter of time before the entirety of the series is.

Ys Origin is also available on PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is the latest entry in the franchise. It is set in the city of Balduq, which has been annexed by the Romun Empire. Adol Christin and his companion Dogi have just arrived, but he was detained before even stepping inside, thanks to Adol’s luck. While imprisoned, he meets a woman named Aprilis, who turns him into a Monstrum, a being with supernatural gifts and the power to exorcise monsters.

Adol must now ally with other Monstrums to fend off the deadly threats emerging from Grimwald Nox’s dimension. If that wasn’t enough, he must also learn more about this Monstrum curse and unravel the mysteries hidden within Balduq.
