Ys Japanese Survey Reveals Most Popular Male & Female Characters

Japanese outlet Dengeki recently published the results of various polls they held regarding the Ys series to celebrate the franchise’s 36th anniversary. These results were accumulated at some time last year from an unspecified number of participants.

Two questions asked fans which male and female characters are their favorites. The following results were revealed, in descending order from most voted to least.

Question 3: Who’s your favorite male character?

1st place: Adol
2nd place: Hummel
3rd place: Dogi
4th place: Geis
5th place: Toal
6th place: Chester
7th place: Jules
8th place: Crimson King
9th place: Credo
10th place: Marius

Question 4: Who’s your favorite female character?

1st place: Dana
2nd place: Feena
3rd place: Lilia
4th place: Elena
5th place: Reah
6th place: Ricotta
7th place: Tia
7th place: Krysha
9th place: Olha
10th place: Laxia

Note that Tia and Krysha are tied for seventh.

Ys X Nordics will occur between Ys II and Memories of Celceta, making it the new third canonical entry in Adol Christin’s adventure logs. The gameplay has undergone a significant shakeup, with there only being two playable characters this time around.

Special maneuvers can be unlocked via story scenes and exploration, allowing for environmental interaction. Further, in solo mode, the character you’re not controlling performs actions judged by their own discretion. Adol will be controlling a ship for combat and island hopping, too.

Unused Ys Seven concepts are being utilized in this outing, too. Ys X Nordics will allow players considerable explorative freedom, enabling naval travel with a recruitable crew and ship combat.
