Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Gets July Release Date for Switch and PC
NIS America announced that the Falcom-developed action RPG Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC-via Steam on July 6 in North America and July 9 in Europe.
The additional platforms of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will most likely resemble the PS4 version in terms of graphics, but depending on the options at launch, the PC version could be the best way to play.
Further, a Pact edition is available for the Switch version, which contains a physical release of the Switch game, Mini Art Book, and Digital Soundtrack.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is set in the city of Balduq, which has been annexed by the Romun Empire. Adol Christin and his companion Dogi have just arrived, but he was detained before even stepping inside, thanks to Adol’s luck. While imprisoned, he meets a woman named Aprilis, who turns him into a Monstrum, a being with supernatural gifts and the power to exorcise monsters.
Adol must now ally with other Monstrums to fend off the deadly threats that are emerging from a dimension called Grimwald Nox. If that wasn’t enough, he must also learn more about this Monstrum curse and unravel the mysteries hidden within Balduq.
