In case you missed it, be sure to check out our review of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox’s PlayStation 4 version back when it was initially released in the west.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is set in the city of Balduq, which has been annexed by the Romun Empire. Adol Christin and his companion Dogi have just arrived, but he was detained before even stepping inside, thanks to Adol’s luck. While imprisoned, he meets a woman named Aprilis, who turns him into a Monstrum, a being with supernatural gifts and the power to exorcise monsters.

Adol must now ally with other Monstrums to fend off the deadly threats emerging from Grimwald Nox’s dimension. If that wasn’t enough, he must also learn more about this Monstrum curse and unravel the mysteries hidden within Balduq.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC-via Steam on July 6 in North America and July 9 in Europe.
