Emotional Visual Novel ‘YOU and ME and HER: a love story’ Reveals Limited Edition and Western Release Window
J-LIST has announced that the upcoming visual novel ‘YOU and ME and HER: a love story’ (also known as Totono) has been confirmed to be heading west early next year, along with a limited edition physical release.
Released in Japan in 2013, YOU and ME and HER tells the story of a young man, Shinichi, who’s a bizarre desire for normalcy is thoroughly dashed when the friendless class weirdo, Aoi, tries to kiss him on the school roof. She’s stopped just in time by the most popular girl in the school, Miyuki, once an old friend of Shinichi but now merely a classmate due to his complex. This seems to do a number on Shinichi, however, and he decides it would be in their best interests if he and Miyuki were to help out Aoi, by just being friends.
Developed by Nitroplus with character art from Tsuji Santa, the creator of Super Sonico, YOU and ME and HER is allegedly an ‘ incredible story of a love strong enough to rewrite everything you thought you knew about visual novels.’ Considering that Nitroplus was behind Saya No Uta and collaborated with 5pb. on Chaos;Head, that’s not just some statement. Additionally, I should mention that this visual novel does contain some explicit (R18+) sexual content.
The limited-edition physical release can be found on J-LIST. It will contain a physical copy of the game as well as a digital download code and your choice of an acrylic postcard stand featuring one of the main heroines.
YOU and ME and Her will release in the west February 2020 on PC via J-LIST. A steam release is yet to be confirmed, but it’s certainly on my wishlist in my heart.
