Yomawari Series Director Working on New “Stylish” Game; Theme is “The Joys of Life”

Yomawari series designer and director Yu Mizokami shared a significant statement in Famitsu’s compilation of end-of-the-year developer comments. She stated that she is working on a brand-new title.

You can view the translated passage via our team’s Ryuji below:

“I’m currently working on a brand-new “stylish” looking game. It involves a subject I have no previous knowledge of, so I am currently in the process of studying while developing it at the same time. I hope I can show it next year! I’ll give you a hint. However, the theme is “the joys of life.”

Mizokami was the director for the first two Yomawari titles while being credited as the game designer for the third, so it’s unknown what exact role she’s performing for this new project. Regardless, that theme certainly sounds different from Yomawari, so we’re interested in seeing this new direction. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated.

The Yomawari series began on the PlayStation Vita with Yomawari: Night Alone. Then, a sequel called Yomawari: Midnight Shadows was released for the same system alongside the PlayStation 4. Both titles are now available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with the latter console having them bundled under the Yomawari: Long Night Collection. If you missed it, check out our review of that collection back when it was initially released.
