7QUARK Assumes Full Control of Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade on Steam After GSE’s “Serious Breach of Contract”

7QUARK, developer of Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade, has taken over full operational control of the game on Steam following publisher GSE’s (Game Source Entertainment’s) abrupt withdrawal.

According to an official statement, GSE ended its role as publisher on May 21 without notice or coordination, which 7QUARK describes as a “serious breach of contract.”

7QUARK now manages the Steam release entirely, including pricing and support. Further, the studio has also adjusted the game’s global pricing to match Steam’s recommended regional rates. As a result, the latest implemented base price is $13.99 USD. Regional price variations previously handled by GSE have been removed.

The developer confirmed that ongoing support and updates will continue across all versions, including console platforms. However, 7QUARK emphasized that console publishing and pricing remain under GSE’s control, and it is not authorized to provide customer service for those platforms.

For refunds, 7QUARK advises going through Steam Support due to platform policy restrictions. Additionally, 7QUARK plans to reveal a short-term update roadmap soon. One of the first changes will include revisions to Taketora’s storyline, though further details have yet to be shared.

About Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade

Set in an alternate historical Japan where peace collapses under the return of the Nine-tailed Fox and their demon legion, Yasha casts players as one of three characters:

    • Shigure, an immortal ninja, voiced by Yoko Hikasa (Mio in K-On!, Frieda Reiss in Attack on Titan).
    • Sara, an Oni emissary, voiced by Ayana Taketatsu (Azusa in K-On!, Nino in The Quintessential Quintuplets).
    • Taketora, a demon samurai, voiced by Rikiya Koyama (Kiritsugu in Fate/Zero, Yamato in Naruto).

Each character brings a unique weapon and style to the battlefield, ranging from demon-forged blades to traditional bows. Combat unfolds in a world governed by a punishing loop of reincarnation.
