Yakuza: Like a Dragon Announced as Xbox Series X Launch Title in New Trailer

Sega announced that the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios developed action RPG Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be a launch title on Xbox Series X when it launches later in 2020. The game will also release on Windows 10.

The trailer is very much Yakuza in the most over-the-top way as a new protagonist is introduced and then quickly double-crossed. The game features an updated battle system as well as bring back a host recognizable characters.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon, will be the seventh entry in the Yakuza series, and will star actors Shinichi Tsutsumi, Ken Yasuda, and Kiichi Nakai who will be lending their appearances and voices to the game’s main cast members along with Kazuhiro Nakaya voicing the game’s main protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon stars a brand new protagonist for the first time since the series began, Ichiban Kasuga, who is a low-level yakuza member trying to make it in the world. His story will lead him to form a crew of unlikely allies as he attempts to follow his dreams from rags to riches.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is said to be more than just the newest entry in the series. The game marks a complete reimagining of the franchise. The game will take place in the setting of Ijincho in Yokohama where players will l explore an entirely new side of Japan never-before-seen in the series. Also, the game will utilize a new turn-based RPG battle system that is completely new for this series.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is also in development for PlayStation 4.
