Release Date for Yakuza: Kiwami on PC Revealed in a GIF

Sega is getting creative with their release date announcements as a Magjima Goro GIF appeared on the Yakuza: Kiwami‘s Steam page which quickly flashes the release date on the final frame reading February 19.

Yakuza: Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza, which launched on PlayStation 4 in 2017. The game retells the story of Kazuma Kiryu, a member of the Dragon of Dojima, who takes the fall for murder to protect his sworn brother, Akira Nishikiyama, and his childhood friend, Yumi. After 20 years pass, Akira has changed his life and Yumi has disappeared, Kazuma has just been released from prison into a world he doesn’t recognize, but after ten billion yen has gone missing from the Togo Clan’s offices, the streets are on the brink of war.

Yakuza: Kiwami has been enhanced and optimized for the PC port which will support 4k resolutions, uncapped framerates, customizable controls, and ultra-widescreen support.

Yakuza: Kiwami will launch on PC-via Steam on February 19.

Author’s take: I love these kinds of reveals, it makes it feel like it strictly for the fans of the series to discover and essentially this PC version will only be for the fans given that media typically don’t return to review ports of games.
