Brief Yakuza 8 Footage Revealed via Enthused MMA Fighter; New Town Teased

Recently, MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura visited the headquarters of developer RGG Studio, so his face could be modeled for the next Yakuza installment. For those unaware, the characters throughout this franchise have appearances based on real people, with more recent entries having embraced this design decision tenfold.

Still, nothing entirely significant is in the new footage. Ichiban, Nanba, and Adachi are briefly shown in what looks to be a run-down apartment building. However, Famitsu published an article on this video, revealing that players can look forward to a new explorable town in this upcoming entry.

We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on this highly anticipated title.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the seventh entry in the Yakuza series and stars actors Shinichi Tsutsumi, Ken Yasuda, and Kiichi Nakai, who lend their appearances and voices to the game’s prominent cast members along with Kazuhiro Nakaya voicing the game’s main protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon stars a brand new protagonist for the first time since the series began, Ichiban Kasuga, a low-level yakuza member trying to make it in the world. His story will lead him to form a crew of unlikely allies as he attempts to follow his dreams from rags to riches.
