Xuan-Yuan Sword VII Releases New Patch Adding Story, Boss, and Modes

Softstar released a patch for their action RPG Xuan-Yuan Sword VII, available now on PC-via Steam.

The patch adds new content to the game in for of a new story mission titled “Memories.” This will lead players to encounter a few new enemies including a new boss, Hundun. Lastly, a new mode has been added, Arena of Legacy, where players can fight against waves of the game’s toughest monsters, along with Zhuolu Chess, which lets players go crazy with the mini-game and play whenever they want.

The developer released a trailer highlighting the update. Not mentioned are the new gear and weapons players can find through the added content.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is a part of a larger series of the game but tells a standalone story rooted in Chinese history and mythology. During the game, players assume the role of Taishi Zhao after he suffered a tragedy. If he hopes to protect his family, Taishi heads out on a journey to the chaotic realm to find the truth of his fate.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is an action RPG with a real-time combat system. In battle, players will combine attacks and abilities with taking down large enemies. Additional actions include active skills, dodge abilities, and flash block.

The game also has a feature is known as Elysium Scroll, a bamboo scroll with the power to absorb monsters, create items, and more. Once a monster is consumed, players can upgrade Taishi’s skill and refine his abilities.
