Xuan-Yuan Sword VII Releases Update Adding New Boss and Higher Difficulty; Global PS4 Release Planned for February

Softstar released an update for their action RPG Xuan-Yuan Sword VII, available now on PC-via Steam.

The update will add a new boss to the game named Tundou. As one of the Four Perils, Tundou is a huge monster with a large mouth that can devour anything in its path. It uses the Earth element, but after the battle, players can imprison it as a new escort like Taowu.

The update will also make stunning easier while using the Ox and Tiger stance. These can stun bosses for high damage. This is good news, considering the update also adds Nightmare difficulty, which makes enemies tougher, but it also drains your stamina faster. Additionally, enemy AI movesets and been improved.

Lastly, the publisher announced plans to launch the game globally in February 2021 on PlayStation 4.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is a part of a larger series of the game but tells a standalone story rooted in Chinese history and mythology. During the game, players assume the role of Taishi Zhao after he suffered a tragedy. If he hopes to protect his family, Taishi heads out on a journey to the chaotic realm to find the truth of his fate.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is an action RPG with a real-time combat system. In battle, players will combine attacks and abilities with taking down large enemies. Additional actions include active skills, dodge abilities, and flash block.

The game also has a feature is known as Elysium Scroll, a bamboo scroll with the power to absorb monsters, create items, and more. Once a monster is consumed, players can upgrade Taishi’s skill and refine his abilities.
