Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains Coming to Switch Later This Year

Gamera Games and Softstar Entertainment announced they will release the classic pixel-art RPG Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains on Nintendo Switch in Q4 2023.

Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains was released on Steam earlier this year and holds a Positive review standing amongst players.

The Switch version of Xuan-Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains offers players the choice of playing in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, or Japanese. The game has received optimization updates and additional content since launch, which includes optimization of the screen ratio to 16:9 and enhancements in visual quality and resolution. The user interface has also undergone refinements to enhance usability. Additionally, the game introduces a new China Chapter, originally featured in the smartphone edition, which delves into the adventures of Sett and his companions within the Tang Empire.

In Mists Beyond the Mountains, players set out across an expansive narrative that traverses two continents, spanning from Venice to the Chinese Tang Empire and passing through the Abbasid Caliphate. The central character is Septem, a Frankish knight holding the rank of lieutenant under Pepin the Younger. His quest takes him on an extensive journey in pursuit of the elusive Invincible Arts of War. Along this path, he becomes entangled in the intricate power struggles among major world powers while also confronting the schemes of Satan himself, who ceaselessly seeks dominion over the world.

The game’s vast scale invites players to explore diverse cities such as Venice, Damascus, and Chang’an, each offering its own distinct art, architecture, cuisine, customs, and clothing.
