XSEED Announces Zombie Survival Action RPG ‘Deadcraft’; Screenshots, Trailer, Gameplay Details & More
Publisher XSEED Games and Marvelous USA have announced a new simulation/action RPG titled Deadcraft. Releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on May 19, 2022, players will find themselves crafting tools to survive in a world overrun by treacherous zombies.
The protagonist, Reid, is half-human, half-zombie, and he boasts numerous impressive abilities such as building new combative armaments and harvesting allied zombie soldiers. He is a member of the remaining fraction of surviving humans following the release of a virus that raised the dead.
However, even amidst the world’s newfound horror comprising of this horrific undead threat and megalomaniacs obsessed with furthering their own ends, Reid is captured by Nebron, the leader of the ever-mysterious Ark. Then, after enduring torture and escaping, Reid vows to suppress these threats. A notable element of player agency is that Reid can cooperate with other survivors to concoct new abilities and recipes or strike them down for selfish results.
The title’s Standard Edition costs $24.99, while its Digital Deluxe edition, costing $39.99, will include the “It Came from the Junkyard” and “Jessie’s Wasteland Wares” DLC packs post-launch. The former pack consists of Reid facing a new threat named Revenant, while the latter pack will have players control the nurse who “she sets up shop to raise funds for her beloved lady Duna.” Further, both DLC packs will be available individually for $7.99.
Kenji Hosoi, Executive Vice President of XSEED Games, provided the following statement regarding this upcoming release:
“It’s great to be back at PAX East with our fans. We focused most of our lineup to bring experiences fans may not expect from us. Marvelous First Studio has done a fantastic job with DEADCRAFT, combining some familiar farming and crafting elements, and letting players choose Reid’s destiny by embracing their inner zombie to pursue chaos, or focus on their humanity. We’re looking forward to seeing which path players pursue, whether they’re playing the expanded demo from our booth or playing from home!”
