XIII Remake Gets Delayed to “Reach the Level of Polish” the Game Needs

Microids announced that the PlayMagic developed remake of the cel-shaded FPS XIII will be delayed from its November 2019 release to 2020.

“We are thrilled with PlayMagic’s work so far. This additional development time is needed to reach the level of polish we’re aiming for. The announcement was greeted by an overwhelming response from the community and we’ll make sure to deliver the best possible game to our fans.” says François Coulon – Head of Production at Microïds.

The remade version of 2003’s XIII will put players back in the role of Thirteen, an agent who has been accused of assassinating the President of the United States. During the game, Thirteen suffers amnesia after an incident on Brighton beach and must now find clues to his past, which include figuring out why the Roman numerals XIII have been tattooed onto his collarbone.

The remade version will feature all 34 levels of the solo campaign and allow players to uncover the full mystery that Thirteen has found himself in. Gameplay has players using a variety of different weapons and gadgets to get through tough situations.

XIII Remake is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
