UPDATE: Xenogears 25th Anniversary Gear Model Kits Announced by Square Enix
Square Enix has announced and listed new Xenogears merchandise to celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary. Specifically, three 1/144 scale mecha model kits were revealed for varying prices and shipment times.
Firstly, the Seibzehn Gear, piloted by Maria, comes with sets of interchangeable wrists and pieces to connect it to the dedicated pedestal, which allows a broader range of poses to be recreated. It costs ¥16,280, with shipments expected to occur on October 28, 2023.

Secondly, the Plastic Model Kit Vol.1 comes with four different models to assemble: Weltall, Vierge, Heimdal, and Brigander, and each of them has different sizes and contains an assortment of accessories. This set costs ¥8,712, with shipments planned for December 23, 2023.

Next, the Plastic Model Kit Vol. 2 comes with three different models: Crescens, Renmazuo, and Xenogears. Just like the previous kit, they’re also in varied sizes, each containing an assortment of accessories. This set costs ¥12,584, with shipments also planned for December 23, 2023.

Xenogears is a PlayStation 1 JRPG that is often considered masterclass due to its intricately woven narrative and compelling setting. I recently began it for the first time and am looking forward to experiencing it in full.
