Xenoblade 1 & 2 Composer, Yasunori Mitsuda, States New Project Announcement Next Month (If Luck Permits It)

The official Twitter account for Yasunori Mitsuda, a composer for Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, has announced that there’s a chance of his next involved project being announced next month at the earliest if luck permits it.

There is obviously no confirmation if this new announcement will pertain to the currently unconfirmed Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but it’s definitely a possibility. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was essentially a Nintendo Switch launch title, so the next numbered entry has been hyped up by fans for quite a while.

Personally, I think the chances of this potential announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are quite high. Between the re-release of the first Xenoblade Chronicles on Switch with added content and Pyra and Mythra joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the franchise is clearly at the forefront of Nintendo’s collective mind. Regardless, all we can currently do is wait and speculate, hoping for our wishes to be realized.

Thank you so much for the birthday messages! I’ve received so many from so many people, and I apologize for not being able to reply to each and every one of them. At the earliest (If luck permits it), a new project I’m involved in will be announced next month! Look forward to it!

Mitsuda has also worked on the soundtracks for a plethora of other titles such as Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and more. If you enjoy his work in the Xenoblade games, chances are that his other games are worth trying out for the soundtracks alone.
