Nintendo and Monolithsoft have announced that Xenoblade Chronicles fans can look forward to new online icons greeting the system across the next couple of weeks. There will be a total of five waves, each representing characters from the three mainline games in the series and accompanying entries. The lineup will alter every Thursday at 6 PM PT until June 29, 2023.
The fourth wave of icons is available until June 23, 2023, and some of the following characters from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are featured:
- Chibi Riki
- Chibi Juniper
- Chibi Edel
- Chibi Isurd
- Chibi Zeon
- Chibi Gray
- Chibi Teach
- Chibi Segiri
For those who missed it, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 had their physical soundtrack releases announced, alongside a Trinity Box housing songs from the entire Xenoblade Chronicles series.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available for Nintendo Switch. Further, its Expansion Pass has been entirely released, including the Future Redeemed prequel episode featuring a new playable cast.
Throughout this prequel story, players will control a brand-new party made of familiar faces, like Shulk and Rex, the protagonists of Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2, respectively, as well as new characters, like the protagonist Matthew.
Several truths will come to light, elucidating various mysteries surrounding pivotal plot threads and characters. The gameplay is largely the same as Xenoblade Chronicles 3, except with a couple of new features and alterations to shake things up, like finding City survivors and upgrading weapons.
One of the new characters is Panacea, a soldier who fights alongside Shulk and sees him as a master of sorts. She’s honest and stubborn, making her appear intimidating and relentless. Another new character is the cautious Rinka, a soldier who works alongside Rex. She respects Rex as a mentor but often admonishes him for his rashness.
