Xenoblade Chronicles 2 character designer Masatsugu Saito has shared new artwork of party member Poppi in her alpha form to celebrate the game’s eighth anniversary.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 follows Rex, a young salvaged who encounters a Blade named Pyra—a being with immense power who can take the form of a weapon. Pyra’s goal is to reach Elysium, a supposed paradise atop the World Tree, which is said to hold the key to Alrest’s future. Rex eagerly agrees to help her by becoming her driver.
With a group of allies, Rex and Pyra face off against several threats, including the Aegis Malos, all while uncovering the secrets of Pyra’s past and countless other tangentially related facets.
The game also received a standalone prequel release, Torna – The Golden Country, which clarified the exact events several years before the base game.
