Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Character Designer Reveals 5th Anniversary Artwork Gorgeously Depicting Mythra & Pyra

The character designer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Masatsugu Saito, has shared a new illustration commemorating the fifth anniversary of the former.

This artwork brilliantly depicts the Blades and heroines consistently by the protagonist’s side, Pyra and Mythra. Saito also recently shared a compiled illustration celebrating Xenoblade Chronicles 3 selling 1.72 million units worldwide, depicting each party member.

Further, the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 developer, Monolithsoft, has published two official wallpapers for the game, available in smartphone, tablet, and desktop forms.

In other news, the character designer for Xenoblade Chronicles X, Raita Kazama, revealed artwork celebrating the fifth anniversary of NieR:Automata.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available on Nintendo Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 tells the story of protagonists Noah and Mio contending with a conflict between the nations of Keves and Agnus. 6 characters will be the crux of the experience, and the broad concept of “life” will be the title’s central theme.

The narrative ties in elements and plotlines from the future of the prior two mainline games, Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Flutes seem to play an integral role in this title’s premise.

The summoning of this powerful new form depends on a new Interlink system. If specific conditions are met, characters can combine into this mech, and choosing well when to transform should be key to the more difficult battles. Another system is a class change option, allowing players to customize their parties’ builds further than in previous games.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is now available for Nintendo Switch. The game recently sold over 1 million units worldwide.
