Xbox Announces Gamescom 2023 Plans; 30+ Playable Games, Presentations, Livestreams & More

Microsoft has announced its plans for Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, between August 23 and August 27, 2023. The in-person event will have an Xbox booth boasting over 30 titles “across 150 gaming stations,” alongside photo opportunities “and a specially constructed 300-seater theatre.”

Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and Ara: History Untold will also have exclusive theatre presentations. Towerborne will also have hands-on opportunities. As for third-party partners, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, Payday 3, Jusant, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Party Animals, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, Under the Waves, and Persona 5 Tactica are some of the titles that will have playable booths. There will be over 25 titles from “third-party partners and ID@Xbox.”

Xbox’s presence, located at Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse, North entrance, will be open to the public at the following times:

  • Thursday, August 24 – 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM CEST
  • Friday, August 25 – 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM CEST
  • Saturday, August 26 – 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM CEST
  • Sunday, August 27 – 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM CEST

Microsoft has also emphasized that the venue will be accessible to various crowds, as quoted below:

“We’re ensuring that all areas of the booth are wheelchair accessible and Xbox Adaptive Controllers will be available on request, as well as select demo stations with adjustable height desks.

We will also have multiple American Sign Language (ASL) and German Sign Language (DGS) interpreters and “Here to Help” staff to assist players of all abilities. Additionally, we’ll have sensory aids and a quiet room for anyone who needs them.”

Lastly, those who can’t attend the event in person can look forward to three days of three-hour livestreams. Deep dives into upcoming games will be presented throughout these broadcasts “with gameplay, developer chats, and community segments.”
