Xbox 360 Store Closing July 2024; Details & Caveats Proivded

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 store will close on July 29, 2024, and television and movie content will no longer be viewable on the device either. Still, already purchased games and DLC will remain playable on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Even if an Xbox 360 game has been deleted from your storage, you’ll be able to redownload it if desired.

Further, multiplayer experiences will still be possible on the Xbox 360, assuming the publisher and developer support it. It’s also worth noting that after July 29, 2024, “you will still be able to purchase hundreds of great backward-compatible Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games and DLC on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox.com.”

” For those who wish to continue playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox Series X|S, we’ve taken the time to enhance those titles so they look and play better than ever before, while staying true to the original version. You can play those Xbox 360 titles with FPS Boost, Auto HDR, and faster loading times. “

The full backward compatibility list is viewable here.

Movies and television content purchased on the Xbox 360 will still be viewable on devices Windows 10 and later, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
