X-Play Just Tweeted and We’re Freaking Out
Longtime fans of gaming will remember a time before YouTube content creators and dedicated fan websites such as Noisy Pixel. Back in these days, the only real way one could consume video reviews, previews or interviews revolving around video would either be on crappy online forums or the coolest channel on television, G4.
At its launch in 2002, G4 was a TV channel almost wholly dedicated to video games. While there had been a few niche shows in the past centering around games, the world had seen nothing like G4 before. It showered viewers with constant coverage of all things gaming, surely inspiring a whole generation of content creators.
While the channel had several great programs, perhaps the most popular was X-Play. X-Play primarily focused around game reviews and comedy skits, airing five days a week during its heyday. The series, most notably hosted by Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb, entertained millions during its runtime.
Ever since the show ended production in 2013, the world has felt an X-Play sized hole in its heart. Well, that hole might be filled again next year as the official X-Play account has tweeted for the first time since 2012.
The account tweeted, “We never stopped playing,” along with a minute-long video ending with the G4 logo and the year 2021.

Obviously, the internet has lost its mind over this with many (us at Noisy Pixel included) thrilled to see a return of the network that brought us so much joy all those years ago.
While little is known about G4′s return as of yet, you can bet that we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
