Kuro Games has revealed details for Wuthering Waves Version 2.7, titled Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides, launching on October 9, 2025, on PlayStation 5, App Store and Google Play, and PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store. The update introduces new main quests, Resonators, Echoes, system optimizations, and limited-time events.
The main story continues with Chapter II Act X: The Bygone Shall Always Return, Act XI: Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides, and an Afterstory titled A Stranger in a Strange Land. Two new Resonators, Galbrena and Qiuyuan, will be featured across upcoming convene banners. Weapon banners will also introduce Lux & Umbra, Emerald Sentence, and more.
New Echoes include Nightmare variants of Viridblaze Saurian and Baby Roseshroom. A fresh Sonata Effect set called Flamewing’s Shadow offers damage bonuses by chaining Echo Skills and Heavy Attacks. A new Tactical Hologram challenge, Lioness of Glory, will be added as well.
Version 2.7 includes a Resonator Ascension Planner, letting players view upgrade paths for Resonators, weapons, Echoes, and skills based on their SOL3 Phase. A new “Journey Log” organizes all Main Quests by chapter and act, with future updates planned for other quest types. The event menu has also been reorganized into Featured, Recurring, and Permanent sections, with a summary panel added for recurring events.
Additional features include a new Terminal called Daylight Flintstone, which can be obtained in this version and swapped via a new system. The Gallery will now include a category for enemies you’ve defeated. Environmental interactions have been expanded, allowing more Resonators and abilities to affect the world directly. The update also adds a Global Filter across all platforms and a new “Eye Comfort” setting for customizing brightness and color temperature.
Special events in Version 2.7 include the Lament Recon combat event, Freeze Frame photography challenge, and platforming and commission events like Septimont Weather Forecast and Lollo Campaign: Ice Savior. Login bonuses will be available through Gifts of Approaching Dawn and Gifts of Ink Song.
Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play, cross-platform open-world action RPG that combines fast-paced combat with exploration and narrative depth.
