World War Z Currently Free on the Epic Games Store, Gets Crossplay on PC and Xbox One

Popular multiplayer zombie game World War Z has received a new update on all platforms and is currently free on the Epic Games Store.

From now until April 2, World War Z  is free to keep on the Epic Games Store. In addition, the game is currently 75% off on Xbox One for Xbox Live Gold subscribers until March 30. The sales come alongside the announcement of crossplay for the game’s PvE missions and Hoard Mode Z mode. Crossplay is currently only available on PC and Xbox One, though PS4 crossplay is expected to arrive sometime in the future.

A new update for the game is also coming today, which includes new weapon variants with unique perks, balance improvements for PvE and Horde Mode Z, and four premium character skins available as a bundle or with the Season Pass.

World War Z is a multiplayer zombie game reminiscent of the Left 4 Dead series inspired by the book and film of the same name. The game features a litany of modes such as a co-op campaign, a PvE hoard mode, and a PvP mode where players take on not only each other but also the undead.
