The World Ends with You: Final Remix Gets Western Release Date and New Teaser Trailer

Square Enix revealed that the definitive version of 2007’s The World Ends with You on Nintendo DS will release as The World Ends with You: Final Remix on October 12 for Nintendo Switch.

The World Ends with You: Final Remix takes place in the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, Japan. The game’s story is told over three weeks and follows Neku, who is confused about a few things, one of which is how he ended up dying and ending up in a place known as the Underground. After meeting a group of people, he must play through a game in order to escape and his death.

The Final Remix version of the game has updated the UI and systems. The port will utilize the Switch Joy Con functionality as well as the system’s touchscreen. Additionally, a new scenario has been added to the title.

The new trailer is labeled a “Teaser Trailer” and focuses on the characters that the player will meet throughout the game’s story. It’s a bit long for a teaser at over a minute and a half long.

You can watch the new trailer below:

Author’s take: Hopefully we see a new group of people appreciating such an underrated game released over ten years ago. I can’t wait to check out the new scenario and see how it fits in with the original story arc.
