Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World Receives Multiple Collector’s Editions, Each Containing Tons of Merchandise

ININ Games and STUDIOARTDINK have announced that pre-orders have begun taking place for three limited editions for Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World. All three of these limited editions are available for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch but are exclusively purchasable via the Strictly Limited Games Partner Store. These limited editions and the standard retail edition of the title will all be released in 2021.

This title is a fully remastered version of the original Wonder Boy IV from 1994. Development is being led by the Wonder Boy series creator, Ryuichi Nishizawa, alongside members of the original development team. Shinichi Sakamoto (sound), Maki Ōzora (character design), and Takanori Kurihara (creative management)  are also a part of this project.

In Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, Asha must leave her village to reclaim spirits and save the world. However, she won’t be alone as her blue flying friend Pepelogoo will be aiding her on her adventure. Fan feedback was taken into serious consideration during the development of this project.

The story will be staying true to the original title’s origins. There will be a slew of updates, however, such as:

• For the first time ever: Character voices
• Remastered graphics with a fresh 2.5D design
• New dynamic and impressive cutscenes and animations
• Remastered game sounds & soundtrack by Shinichi Sakamoto
• Additional easy mode, so everyone alike can enjoy the game

The original Monster World IV will be included in all releases, regardless of the type of physical edition purchased. The title will be included on the cartridge of the Nintendo Switch release and will be a download code for the PlayStation 4 disc version.

The limited-edition is priced at €39.99 ($49.05) and will be limited to 3,500 copies for Nintendo Switch and 1,700 copies for PlayStation 4.
