ININ Games announced they will publish the Studioartdink-developed the classic action-adventure Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in early 2021.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a fully remastered version of Wonder Boy IV, which was released in 1994. The developers from the original game have returned to the project to work on this remastered release.
However, when looking at the gameplay, fans will quickly notice that it doesn’t resemble what other retro remasters have looked like in the past, most notably, the release of Monster Boy. Well, the easiest reason for this is that they were developed by Lizeradcube with help from developers such as Wayforward.
It’s a tough sell, but it looks like the charm of Wonder Boy IV has been lost in this reveal to take the form of a mobile game. Fans seem to quickly release this as they’ve begun downvoting the trailers and experiencing their concerns for the sub-par 3D assets and lack of care that has gone into the reveal. However, we haven’t played the game at this point, so it could possibly play well.
We’ll keep you updated on the release of Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World.
