Publisher Dotemu has shared a lengthy, roughly half-hour documentary showcasing the development of Windjammers 2. Fans and prospective ones are taken behind the scenes to view many of the generalities and specifics of the development process, with the creators of the original game even making appearances.
Throughout Windjammers 2, the athletes can face off in online ranked play across various courts, including a sandy beach, roaring stadium, rowdy ring, or a towering rooftop complete with shot-deflecting bumpers. The game is an evolution of the original arcade classic with new power disc power-up s and perfected mechanics. It’s aimed to be a competitive experience but approachable to casual players. In addition, the animations are entirely hand-drawn using 2D animations, making the game fun to watch as well.
The title received an open-beta period a few months ago, featuring several playable characters who each have their own abilities and skills. The cast includes Steve Miller, the well-balanced Biaggi, the incredibly swift series newcomer Sophie de Lys, and the now-confirmed, tanklike returning star Gary Scott.
