Windjammers 2 Reveals Arcade Mode and All-Star Steve Miller in New Trailer

Publisher and developer Dotemu, known for their work on titles such as Streets of Rage 4, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, have revealed footage of Windjammers 2’s Arcade Mode, as well as the return of Steve Miller.

The Arcade Mode allows players to conquer championships while playing solo, offering up a gauntlet of matches against AI opponents as well as optional challenges. This rewards players who can readily adapt to any given situation. Credits will be earned from performing well, which saves players from falling out of tournaments should they lose a match. This mode is ideal for beginners and adds color to each athlete’s story through personalized endings after they rise through the ranks and defeat their rivals.

Steve Miller marks his return, a mid-tier fighter, to be applicable for both beginners and veterans alike. Miller delivers weak throws compared to what the rest of the roster can, but he’s swift and can perform tricky curved shots.

Windjammers 2 also features a rollback netcode, which is often a preferred method of playing input-intensive games online. Players can test this out in the demo, which is available in the demo of the title. This demo lasts until February 9, 2021.
