Publisher Balor Games and developers Chuhai Labs and Vitei Backroom have announced that their on-rails shooter Wild Blue Skies will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at an unknown time.
Players control a fighter pilot and battle enemy forces across, attempting to stop the invading army led by Grimclaw.
The title will feature accessible controls with score-based arcade gameplay. The project is a modern take on classic rail shooters, featuring updated controls and an anime-inspired visual style. Missions include branching routes and hidden paths that encourage replayability, with alternate objectives.
Players will also face off against rival pilots and bosses during the story. In addition to standard enemy encounters, dogfights against an opposing squadron will play a central role. Exploration will be rewarded through alternate routes and secret missions.
