White Day: A Labyrinth Named School on PS5 Will Not Be a Free Upgrade From PS4 Version Due to Content Differences
PQube announced that White Day: A Labyrinth Named School will not feature a free PlayStation 5 upgrade option from the PlayStation 4 release when it launches in September 2022.
The publisher has confirmed that owners of the PS4 version will not be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free “due to the differences in content between the platforms.” Evidently, the PS5 version includes more than 30 additional bonus costumes which are not available in the PS4 standard release.
Further, the PS5 version will exclude the Blazblue collaboration costume set from the Ultimate Horror Edition Bundle on PS4 due to licensing.
The White Day entries have been known for their horror and puzzle elements. Players traveled around the school and interacted with supernatural objects to progress. The scares in-game came from a group of janitors who roam around the building at random and force you to run and hide. It’s an interesting concept but does lose its novelty over the course of the game as you aim to complete puzzles and escape.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in September 2022.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is available for PlayStation 4, mobile devices, and PC.
